Digital Storytelling in the Classroom

Why might incorporating digital storytelling into an elementary school classroom be difficult? Well to start off with, I am majoring in Early Childhood Education. Young children are not typically able to do too much on a computer such as creating digital stories of their own. I guess in my case I would be the one creating digital stories to help in my teaching. Something that may be difficult will be to make sure that the media that I use is not distracting from the lesson that I am teaching to the children. It will have to have a clear purpose that is made known to the students. I think that digital storytelling could easily be a distraction if not used for a clear purpose.
